INDUCTEACHING coordination meeting

On 6th October, the first coordination meeting took place with the participation of all the researchers of the INDUCTEACHING project.

This first meeting of the project “INDUCTEACHING: Traffic towards the teaching profession. INDUCTEACHING: Validation of a teacher induction proposal linked to the initial training and first year of teaching for primary school teachers” aimed to meet the work team, present and review the project and define the tasks, agreements and commitments. Also plan the work plan for the 16 months that the project will last.

The INDUCTEACHING project -a proposal for an induction model between initial training and teaching in Primary Education- coordinated by Professor Patricia Olmos and with a budget of €25,000, aims to contribute and provide evidence that allows for a strategic change and improves initial training of primary school teachers. To do this, it will focus on traffic towards the profession -from the last year of initial training and continuously during the first year of teaching professional practice-, through the creation of a collaborative network (face-to-face and virtual) between educational centers and universities that work on the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and validation of induction processes in the profession.

INDUCTEACHING will allow a greater projection of the Degree in Primary Education towards the workplace and will mean added value for the students of the faculties of education involved. The project must allow the consolidation of a quality transition/induction program between undergraduate studies and the professional practice of new teachers, configuring an innovative training model.

The INDUCTEACHING project will take into account the contributions made within the framework of the MIF1 and the experiences that, in this regard, are currently being carried out in some specialized teacher training courses such as secondary schools; for example, the transition program between initial training and secondary school teaching of the ICE-Faculty of Educational Sciences UAB and the Department of Education. Also the specific training proposal for interns that the Department of Education carries out jointly with the Institutes of Education Sciences (ICE) of Catalan universities — an introductory course for teaching, based on RESOLUTION EDU /2637/2020 , of October 23, which approves the instructions on the introductory course, the initial trial period and the suitability test of interim teaching staff.
