Extraordinary Doctorate Prize

Saida López, of the CRIEDO, has been awarded the extraordinary doctorate prize on Friday 3rd June 2022.

The Doctoral School held the half-yearly event in which the extraordinary Doctorate awards are presented and where the Doctor titles are also delivered. In this sense, the UAB, with 66 doctoral programs, is one of the leading Catalan universities in terms of thesis production and generates approximately one third of the Catalan thesis that are produced annually.

The Extraordinary Awards value those thesis that have received the grade of Outstanding Cum Laude, and that, according to the CAPD of each doctoral program, has stood out for its contribution and progress in the different areas on which the UAB works. The aim of the delivery is to value the effort and dedication of the young researchers and their contribution to the generation of knowledge.

Saida López has been awarded for the thesis called 'The role of school principal for the promotion of informal teacher learning in the schools.' López's thesis aims to analyse the role of school principals in promoting informal teacher learning in schools. At first, it is a question of knowing how teachers and school principals learn informally in their workplace, identifying the determining factors that encourage or hinder this type of learning. Secondly, this thesis aims to investigate how school principals act to facilitate and promote this type of learning in their schools.

Sara Colorado Ramírez and Cristina Pérez Maldonado also received this recognition, who carried out their doctoral thesis under the supervision of Joaquín Gairín.
