The Center World University Rankings has positioned the UAB in place 195 on a global scale and in the second position among the Spanish universities.
The United Arab Emirates Consultant Center World University Rankings (CWUR) has presented the 2019 edition of the ranking of the best universities in the world. The UAB is positioned at number 195, being passed only by a Spanish university: the University of Barcelona, which occupies position 129.
The ranking is led by the University of Harvard, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Stanford University, the three centers in the USA. The CWUR evaluates 20,000 higher education centers, which places the UAB within 1% with the best universities in the world.
For the evaluation of each of the participating universities, seven indicators are taken into account: the quality of teaching, measured by the relative number of students who have obtained international awards (15% of the final assessment); employability, measured by the relative number of students currently holding a position in large companies (15%); the quality of teachers, measured by the number of academics who have won large international awards (15%); the number of articles published (15%); the number of articles featured in top-level magazines (15%); the number of articles featured in magazines of great impact (15%); and finally the number of the most cited research articles (10%).
Regarding the production of research, the ranking places the UAB in position no. 143 worldwide, obtaining an overall score of 78.8 points.
