Joaquín Gairín, EDO’s director, has been re-elected as Dean of the Educational Sciences Faculty of UAB.
Professor Joaquín Gairín was elected Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona in the extraordinary session of the Faculty Board on the 2nd of October.
The professors Albert Casals Ibáñez, Secretary and Vice Dean of Practicum, Anna Marbà Tallada, Vice Dean of Studies, Maria Dolors Masats, Vice Dean of Quality and Innovation and Marta Bertrán Tarres, Vice Dean of Students and Mobility will be part of the Faculty's governing team.
Professor Gairín began his employment relationship with UAB in 1981, and has been Professor of Educational Organization since 1995. Throughout these 34 years of work at the UAB has been linked to management positions of different levels of responsibility: being coordinator of night-shift studies of the Faculty of Letters (1984-1988), director of DOE area (1987-1990), Secretary of the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics (1987-1992), Vice-dean of Teaching and Studies (1990- 1992), Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (1993-1996), Director of the Applied Pedagogy Department (1996-1998), Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences (1998-2002), commissioned by the Rector for the Cluster in Education and Training (2011-2013) and again Director of the Applied Pedagogy Department (2011-2015).
In addition, Professor Gairín was the promoter of studies of educational organization at UAB, whose team of teachers received in 2012 the award Jaume Vicens Vives regarding their Teaching Quality and Innovation. Also, since 1999 it has been the Director of the Organizational Development Team, a research group that has received in 2005, 2009, 2014 and 2018 the recognition as a consolidated research group by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
