Abstract - project card:

Situations of violence and intolerant attitudes occur on a daily basis in professional sports competitions. But these situations also occur in the sports activities that schoolchildren do each day, and especially in the sports competitions in which children compete. To combat violence in sport, there is a need to develop actions that are coordinated between all of the actors and agents implied in the coaching of children and all parties with an interest in school sport.

The project “Prevention of intolerant attitudes in school sports competitions. Construction and diffusion of a code of behaviour” seeks to identify the problems and causes of intolerance in school sport through conducting a field study in different autonomous communities of Spain.

From the situation analysis, we proceed by producing a proposal for a code of behaviour for school sports competitions, which is disseminated for its pedagogical use at schools, federations, clubs and sports associations. It should be noted that this study is focused on compulsory education (from 6 to 16 years).

The code of behaviour cannot resolve the problem in itself, but it can foster training processes and the development of attitudes and values that we should all expect to be present in sport; also the rejection of any violent attitudes that both sportspeople and the people attending the events manifest on so many occasions.
